This rondalla was founded in 1950 under the direction of Julio Varela.
It was inactive for many years until it reappeared in 1980 under the direction of Antonio Yllobre, who led it until 1983. That year his brother Leovigildo Yllobre took over as conductor until his death in July 2015. Daniel Adzemian then conducted it for just over a year, and since September 2016 it has been conducted by Ángel Carro.
From its early years, its performances have been mainly local and regional, including every event organised by Ares City Council. It also takes part in musical events across the province, especially the Pepitas celebrations in Ferrol and Mugardos, where it has performed for many years. Its activity has grown considerably thanks to its participation in the A Coruña Provincial Council's cultural circuits.
After a serious crisis during the pandemic years, it came back strongly in 2022, performing at well-known festivals such as the "Peras" (Pear) festival in Pontedeume and the "Faba" (Bean) festival in Lourenzá.
In 2023 its activity expanded greatly, with 6 concerts for the A Coruña Provincial Council, as well as taking part in the Pepitas in Ferrol and Mugardos and giving many concerts around the Ferrol area.
More recently, it has continued to broaden its horizons at traditional festivals such as the "Codillo" (Ham Hock) festival in A Rúa de Valdeorras.
After many years with Ángel Barreiro as president, Juan Sanjurjo took over the presidency in November 2022.
The rondalla currently has 32 members.
Its godmother in 2025 is Teresa Rodríguez Rañales.
